ASK A LOCAL – Bob Bogard

Bob Bogard has had the pleasure of living in London, Copenhagen, New York, and San Francisco.  He and his husband have now lived in Palm Springs for over 12 years and he’s pleased to say Palm Springs is his favorite!

Bob is currently the Marketing Director at Palm Springs Life Magazine and has worked as the Marketing Director for the Palm Springs Art Museum and the Development Director for the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

Where do you enjoy going for a cocktail?

The Purple Palm restaurant at the Colony Palms Hotel. They make a Manhattan with dried rosemary, light it on fire and capture the smoke, infusing a delightfully smoky flavor.

What is your favorite early evening hang out?

The bar at The Tropicale has a fantastic happy hour. We love their outdoor patio area and the waiters are always nice to look at J

What do you think is the best kept secret in Palm Springs?

Miro’s on South Palm Canyon. They serve quasi-Eastern European food. The food quality is amazing and the service is unbelievable.

What is your favorite nearby adventure?

The Integratron Dome near Joshua Tree. It is an acoustically perfect, domed building where they perform sound baths using large crystal cylinders filling the room with vibrations. Just an amazing experience!  On the way back we stop at Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneer town and have a large burger.

What is your preferred late night spot?

Appetito – near KoffiSouth – great for late night snacks.
