ASK A LOCAL – VICTOR TORT

We love to share top secrets from local Palm Springs’ “men in the know”. This month we checked in with Victor Tort, a local fitness trainer, professional cyclist and all-around health enthusiast.

Favorite place to ride?

Palm Springs is a beautiful place to ride a bike. There is beautiful scenery everywhere and the sunrises are amazing. The Tram Road is my favorite ride but I can’t wait for the new CV Link to open.  It’s the new biking trail linking the entire Coachella Valley.

Like many locals Victor decided to move to Palm Springs after vacationing here with his partner. Originally from Puerto Rico (La Isla del Encanto) Victor’s lived in Miami, Orlando (a stint with Disney), and San Francisco. Victor is a personal trainer, TRX and Spin Instructor.

He has specialty training in body alignment and pain management. In Palm Springs, he’s focused on helping clients with physical conditions related to tennis and golf.  You can find out more at www.victort.com.  Victor’s continuing passion is cycling and he races regularly in Velodromes in both San Diego and Los Angeles.

Favorite way to spend your day off?

Cycling, tennis, golf, swim or gym – studying and recovering from my work days.

Best place to people watch?

I like Thursday nights at Village Fest – the street fair on Palm Canyon Drive.  For me I like it because every week I see different people walking, lots of kids, dogs, and everyone having a nice time walking around.

When you go to Cabazon Outlets which stores do you have to go to?

Nike and Asics.  As a trainer, I can find my “suit and tie” there, and Polo, of course.

What is your favorite bike store in Palm Springs?

There is only one bike shop for me and it is Palm Springs Cyclery on Palm Canyon Drive.   And I love Mike’s Bike Truck (it is a mobile bike truck mechanic   LOVE IT!!

Let us know if you’d like to arrange a one on one training session with Victor.  We’d be happy to put you in touch. We can also provide information on tennis, golf, swimming, local gyms or whatever your personal exercise needs are!
